Not all Mums like chocolates and cakes but there are some like me who take a share from their kids’ sweets as well. Take a look at the below ideas to treat your mum’s sweet tooth this Mother’s day:
Homemade chocolate treats:
If your mommy is an “i-believe-in-everything-homemade” kind of a person, then you can try some homemade chocolate coated stuff like fresh strawberries coated in chocolate or even cashews, almonds and raisins. You simply have to buy a bar of raw chocolate, melt it, dip the fruit/dry fruit in it and keep it to solidify in the fridge (never freezer). DO NOT add water or milk to the raw chocolate as this will spoil the consistency.
For the next level chocoholics, you could combine different kinds of chocolate into a decorative basket and make it a really chocolicious experience for her. You could include dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate, chocolate liquor and much more.
Give her a treat she will never forget. You could make really unique beverages using different chocolaty stuff like the a chocolate-ice cream-cake-shake, which is also my personal favourite.
Toss a piece of chocolate sponge cake, chocolate syrup, vanilla or chocolate ice cream and a small bowl of milk in the mixer and let it grind in there for 2-3 minutes. Pour it into a mason jar and refrigerate. You could get unique with this and add oreos or kitkats or ferrero rochers, depending on you will to experiment.
If you aren’t much into baking and still want to make a chocolate cake for your choco-loving mom.
Here’s a simple recipe for you:
Prepare a choco-coffee mix by mixing 7 tbsp sugar, 4 tbsp all purpose flour, 2 tbsp coffee powder, ½ cup milk, 50gms melted butter, ½ tbsp cocoa powder and ½ tbsp drinking chocolate powder.
Stack 18-20 Marie biscuits with layers of the mix between them and then place it on a foil horizontally.
Coat the entire stack with the remaining mixture, fold it into the foil and refrigerate for 2-3 hours.
And your no bake choco-coffee cake is ready! Go ahead and make your mum happy and proud!
